Project consisted of the renovation and addition to “The CUB” as it is referred to on campus. The CUB is where students and the public gather for food, leisure, on campus events and to visit the Student Bookstore. The project was completed in three phases. After the initial phase of construction The CUB reopened to the student body. Phase 3 concluded with the addition of an on campus mail center and student activity office spaces. At this point, SMC transitioned from working in a semi-vacant building to an involved coordination with construction and University life.
SMC Scope of Work
Project consisted a four pipe chilled and hot water system. Equipment included a 500-ton air cooled chiller, central steam to water heat exchangers, boiler for reheat, VAV boxes, fan coils, exhaust fans, commercial kitchen equipment and rooftop air handling equipment. SMC utilized our in house CAD Department to layout the project and coordinate with the various trades. SMC manufactured and prefabricated the hydronic piping as well as the ductwork and plumbing piping in house prior to the material arriving onsite.
