Project consisted of the demolition of an existing hybrid water source heat pump system. The original system utilized a cooling tower and boiler to control the facility’s geothermal water temperature. SMC was awarded the project and worked in an occupied office building providing temporary heat throughout construction. SMC converted the existing hybrid geothermal system to a closed ground loop well system.
SMC Scope of Work
This project was a Publically Opened project. SMC demolished the existing system and prefabricated the new mechanical room piping offsite using cooper press fittings so we were ready to flow water before the wells were brought online. This minimized downtime for the building occupants. This project started in October (beginning of heating season) so it was an extremely time sensitive schedule.
